What Are the Benefits of Hiring a Professional Kids Party Planner?

As your kids grow up, they start to want to have more parties with their friends for birthdays, sports events, movie premiers, etc. They also start to want more fun things to do at those parties. When they’re still babies, it doesn’t take much to plan the party; it’s mainly just getting a cake and inviting people over to watch your baby get their face smashed in the cake. When they’re older, it’s a little different, because your child and their friends will be running around playing and will need activities to entertain them.

Hiring a professional party planner for your kid’s party will make your life so much easier. If you’re busy raising and taking care of your family, you probably don’t have loads of spare time to spend looking for party décor, so hire somebody to help you. It can also be hard to be super creative and come up with fun activities for the kids to do; the professional party planner will take care of all of that. It’s their job to be creative.

What Does a Professional Party Planner Do?

When you hire a professional party planner, they will go over all of the details with you about what you want at the party and then use that information to design the look of your party. Have some ideas ready before you hire them so that they will get a clear image of what your preferences are and how you want everything to be set up.

It’s up to you and your kid to decide on the theme of the party; it’s not the party planner’s job to do that for you. They make the decorations and treats to match the theme you give them, accordingly.

Choosing a theme is important, even if it’s just floral or camouflage themed, the planner needs something to go on. You may already have the theme picked out due to it being a party in celebration of a sports tournament. For example, if your son or daughter is having their big

championship soccer game coming up, you could plan a party for he or she and their teammates.

Holiday kid parties are pretty straight forward as well; a Halloween party gets Halloween-themed decorations and a Fourth of July party gets an American flag theme. Otherwise, if you’re just having a birthday party, the themes you can choose from are endless, and it doesn’t have to be gender-specific either. The theme could be a movie or tv show that your child likes or their favorite colors.

Some other ideas for themes that you could choose are:

  • Hello Kitty

  • Sugar Skulls

  • Legos

  • Marvel

  • BeachSpace

  • Polka-dots

  • Carnival

  • Mermaid

  • Rock Star

  • Tie DyeArt

  • Cowboy

Once you hire the party planner and have talked to them about what theme you want, they’ll not only make decorations, but they’ll also bring sweet treats, a cake, party favors, party games, place settings for tables and even a piñata to the party if you want one. They don’t typically provide other foods, just desserts.

How to Find a Professional Party Planner

Most professional party planners have their own business since they are local. If you don’t know where to find one, you can always Google, “Professional party planner near me”, but if that doesn’t work in helping you find one, there is a site called Thumbtack, which allows you to search for a Kids Party Planner within a certain mile radius from your zip code. Each of the results has a picture and a description of the party planners around you. There’s also reviews of each person and a rating out of 5 stars; you just have to click on the link to their information to read everything you need to know.

Word of mouth and references from other parents are also always good when you are looking for a professional party planner. They can tell you what their experience was and this information will help you make a more informed decision when it comes down to hiring someone for your kid's event.

Kid’s Party Location

Hosting a kid’s party can get pretty messy, so you might not want to have it at your house, which is understandable. Especially if your kids are fairly young, there’ll be a lot of messes to clean up at the end of the party. The alternative to doing it at your house is to rent out a room at a place that specifically hosts kids’ parties. You could have it at Chuck E. Cheese, the movie theater or another kid-friendly place around your area.

What’s great about renting out a room at one of these party places is that they’ll do all the party planning for you. Most of them have a play gym or bouncy castles or an arcade, and then you will have a designated room for all the kids to go to for cake and snacks. Some of those locations can get a little expensive, depending on what package you choose.

Another advantage of hiring a professional party planner in your area is the fact that they most likely have established relationships with a lot of the vendors and locales. These relationships can ultimately mean possible discounts for you.

Discounts are always great considering all the extras that usually get included with a kid's party like the party favors, treat bags, and extra balloons. Anything to help stay on budget is always welcomed.

Spare Yourself! Use a Professional Party Planner

Whether you hire a local person who plans kid’s parties, or you use a kid's party place to have the party at, it will save you the hassle of having to clean up the messes your kids and their friends are going to make. Hiring someone or someplace will ultimately cost you more than if you were to host the party at your own house, but would you rather clean for hours or pay a little more to have someone do all the hard work for you?
